Hello everybody, and a very happy Thursday to you. As of late, I have been posting a lot about the things I wish to cross off my bucket list within the year. Well I thought I’d update you on how some of those are going. Aditionally, I’d like to update you on the list of fifty items I posted about a year ago that I said I wanted to compltete within the year.
Puddles Pity Party
As I stated in This Year in Bucket Lists…, I have already purchased my tickets to this show on June 9, and I am just as stoked as the day I bought them!
As you recall, I made a completely, 100% subtle hint in the afore mentioned post that Adam should buy me tickets to see their stand up show on May 18. Well I’m pleased to say that it payed off! A few weeks ago, Adam told me that he had good news and bad news; the bad news being that he doesn’t have to get me an anniversary gift in September. That’s because the good news was that he bought us fourth row seats to the show. I literally could not say anything, I was so excited. So be on the lookout for a post or video in about two week’s time about this experience.
We are on track to go to the June 1-3 Comic Con in Des Moines. This one should be pretty interesting. Since, I think, we are only planning to go see JDF, we will have the rest of the weekend open for panels and workshops. Time to get my nerd knowledge on!
Omaha Comic Con
This one will also be interesting. Again, there is only one celebrity that we are currently planning to see, so we should be able to hit up a lot of panels. Also, since this one is so close to home, we could possibly attend all three days. This one is July 13-15.
Colorado Springs Comic Con
As excited as we were for this one, I don’t think it’s going to happen this year. It’s just too far away and would end up being really expensive. Plus, it’s right before my mom’s birthday, and I need to save funds for her big birthday trip that we want to take. But there’s always next year.
Take an out of state trip every month
You’ll remember this one from Resolution Progress. So far, it’s going great. Though I realized the other day that both trips we have taken so far have been for Comic Cons. I don’t know if I should feel ashamed by that. Oddly enough, our next one will be, when? Wizard Con!
Though I’m not doing as well as I know I can being doing, it’s going pretty well. I need to get better at my water intake and stop eating out, but I’m pretty pleased with my progress. I’ve been making a lot of crockpot meals in the morning before I go to work. That way I have something healthy already prepared when I get home, and I can take the leftovers for lunch the next day so I’m not tempted to eat out.
Submit first book for publishing
I’m getting closer every day. I’m still on the character and story development side of things, but I am mad inspired by this one. I’m hoping to start cranking out the pages over my lunch breaks and free time. So stay tuned on this one.
If you refer back to 50 Bucket List Items You Could Complete This Year, you will find all of the items I set out to complete on June 19 of last year. With the deadline just over a month away, I’m a little disappointed to say I’ve only completed nine of those fifty items. However, I see big potential to cross off a handful more before time is up. So here’s the (short) list of what I have accomplished thus far:
- Get a tattoo
- Start a blog and keep it going for a year
- Have a pen pal in another country
- Kiss under mistletoe
- Dance on a bar
- Give blood (scheduled for next Friday)
- Make a bucket list
- See a Solar Eclipse
- Sing at a karaoke bar
Hopefully I will have many more updates to provide you with very soon. In the meantime, you can refresh your memory or catch up with my bucket list wishes by clicking on the links above. Thank you for keeping with me on this wurlwind journey I’ve been calling twenty-five. Check back soon for new content. And as always, I hope you are all looking for ways to cross it off this weekend. Have a good one!
